About Our Church
Who We Are
Hillsdale United Methodist Church is a diverse community united in our faith in Jesus and in our love for the world. We take the Great Commandment and the Great Commission seriously. We believe that at the center of our identity is the call to love God, love people and to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.
Hillsdale United Methodist Church is part of the California Nevada Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church. We are deeply Wesleyan in our theological roots and intentionally social in our pursuit of making a difference in our neighborhood and beyond. As a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural community with a significant presence of Tongan people we offer worship in two languages each and every Sunday.
We have a long history that reaches back to August 21, 1949 when seven couples from Burlingame Methodist Church gathered together for the first ever worship of what would eventually become Hillsdale Methodist Church. We stand on the shoulders of many faithful leaders, members and pastors who labored in love to make our church what it is today. You can read the full history of the church here.
